Very expected game when 8th rankedHitachi Cougars (4-24) were smashed by second ranked Fujitsu RW (22-6) in Hitachinaka 84-62 on Saturday. Fujitsu RW dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars ' 20. Fujitsu RW looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hitachi Cougars ' players. The former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Nigerian center Mfon Joshua (190-1999) supported her with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 5 assists by Honoka Morioka (172-2004) did not help to save the game for Hitachi Cougars . Forward Ririka Okuyama (180-2000) added 20 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains second position with 22-6 record having just two points less than leader Denso I. Hitachi Cougars lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games.
