No shocking result in a game in Shiga where third ranked Osaka E. (21-19) smashed 8th ranked Lakestars (4-35) 107-81 on Wednesday. Osaka E. made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Osaka E. outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 45-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 9 rebounds and American-Filipino guard Ray Parks (193-1993, agency: Slash Sports) who added 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Osaka E. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Osaka E. maintains third position with 21-19 record having thirteen points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Newly promoted Shiga L-Stars keep the eighth place with 35 games lost. Osaka E. will meet at home Nagasaki (#6) in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against Hokkaido L. in Sapporo and hope to secure a win.
