There was an upset in Iwate where 4th placedBig Bulls (26-14) were defeated by eleventh ranked Shanan Utd (18-22) 87-80 on Sunday. Shanan Utd looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Michael Hughes (203-1998, college: Duquesne) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-1985, college: FAU) chipped in 17 points and 5 steals. Five Shanan Utd players scored in double figures. American forward Clay Mounce (199-1998, college: Furman) produced a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and American-Australian forward Kyrin Galloway (203-1999, college: UNCG) added 13 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Big Bulls' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanan Utd moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tokyo. Loser Big Bulls keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost.
