Not a big story in a game when 6th rankedWyverns (16-25) lost to second ranked Brave Warriors (28-13) in Nagano 83-89 on Tuesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Yamagata outrebounded Shinshu 41-28 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shinshu looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shinshu made 7 blocks. American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) accounted for 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Brave Warriors' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American TJ Holyfield (203-1995, college: Texas Tech) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and American-Filipino guard Roosevelt Adams (196-1998, college: Idaho Coll.) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Yamagata in the defeat. Four Yamagata players scored in double figures. Shinshu maintains second place with 28-13 record behind leader Chiba, which they share with Kagoshima. Yamagata lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with 25 games lost. They share it with Kumamoto V..
