Very expected game in Matsuyama where 7th rankedOrange Vikings (3-38) were rolled over by third ranked Shizuoka (25-16) 89-62 on Saturday. Shizuoka made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Shizuoka outrebounded Ehime 43-21 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ehime 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward John Harrar (205-1999, college: Penn State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side point guard Takumi Furuno (178-1993) responded with 15 points and 6 assists and American forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 25-16 record having three points less than leader Chiba. Ehime lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 38 games lost.
