There was a minor upset in Ishikawa where 12th rankedTachikawa (15-21) was outplayed by fifteenth ranked Kanazawa (13-23) 99-78 on Saturday. Kanazawa made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Kanazawa outrebounded Tachikawa 41-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ukrainian center Viacheslav Petrov (204-1994, agency: BIG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in 16 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Kanazawa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Michael Phillips (202-1990, college: Howard) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-1990, college: Oklahoma, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 22 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kanazawa maintains fifteenth place with 13-23 record. Tachikawa lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 21 games lost.
