Regular Season Round 37: Sendai 89ers - Alvark Tokyo 64-79

There was no surprise in Sendai where 8th ranked 89ers (8-29) were defeated by second ranked Alvark Tokyo (26-11) 79-64 on Sunday. The former international forward Ryan Rossiter (206-1989, college: Siena) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international guard Kai Toews (188-1998, college: UNCW) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. Four Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Brazilian center Cristiano Felicio (210-1992, college: Oregon) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alvark Tokyo keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sea Horses M. and Ryukyu. Sendai 89ers lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with 29 games lost. They share the position with Ibaraki R.. Alvark Tokyo will meet at home Kyoto H. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sendai 89ers will play against the league's second-placed Gunma CT (#2) and hope to secure a win.
