Very expected game in Fukushima where 7th rankedFirebonds (8-31) were rolled over by first ranked Chiba (37-2) 93-65 on Saturday. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Firebonds 's 34. Chiba outrebounded Fukushima 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Trey Porter (210-1996, college: Nevada) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. American-Hungarian forward Mikael Hopkins (206-1993, college: Georgetown) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Rapolas Ivanauskas (208-1998, college: Cincinnati) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 37-2 record. Fukushima at the other side keeps the seventh place with 31 games lost.
