Regular Season Round 38: Kagoshima - Shinshu BW 87-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Renova. Second ranked Brave Warriors faced their close opponent Kagoshima. Guests from Nagano (26-13) defeated host Kagoshima (27-12) 91-87. Shinshu made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Shinshu outrebounded Kagoshima 51-37 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shinshu looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Kaito Ishikawa (170-1990) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Dutch center Matt Haarms (221-1997, college: BYU) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Shinshu maintains second position with 26-13 record having just three points less than leader Chiba which they share with defeated Kagoshima. Newly promoted Kagoshima keeps the second place with 12 games lost. Shinshu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kagoshima will play against the league's second-placed Shinshu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
