Important game to mention about took place in Fukushima. Seventh rankedFirebonds (8-29) saved a 2-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Grouses (25-12) 93-91 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Strangely Toyama G. outrebounded Fukushima 44-30 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Fukushima players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Toyama G. 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Hungarian forward Mikael Hopkins (206-1993, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Lithuanian forward Rapolas Ivanauskas (208-1998, college: Cincinnati) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points in the effort for Toyama G.Five Fukushima and four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fukushima maintains seventh place with 8-29 record. Toyama G. at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost. They share it with Shinshu.
