Regular Season Round 34: Kumamoto V. - Shinshu BW 59-72

There was no surprise in Kumamoto where 6th ranked Volters (11-23) were defeated by third ranked Brave Warriors (23-11) 72-59 on Sunday. The former international forward Eliet Kojima-Donley (198-1996, college: Chaminade, agency: Slash Sports) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Hugh Watanabe (207-1998) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Mitch Lightfoot (203-1997, college: Kansas, agency: Slash Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import center Jamel McLean (203-1988, college: Xavier) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brave Warriors have a solid three-game winning streak. Shinshu maintains third position with 23-11 record having just two points less than leader Chiba. Loser Volters dropped to the fifth place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Bambitious. Shinshu will meet Fukui B. (#4) on the road in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play against Shizuoka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
