We should mention about the upset which took place in Tokushima, where 11th rankedGambarous (13-19) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Shanan Utd (12-18) 80-90 on Saturday. Shanan Utd looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Michael Hughes (203-1998, college: Duquesne) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Shuki Shigetomi (174-1998) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Shanan Utd's coach Takeshi Hotta used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Tucker Haymond (195-1994, college: W.Michigan) with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Josh Martin (201-1995, college: Santa Clara) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Shanan Utd and five Tokushima Gam. players scored in double figures. Shanan Utd have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Yamaguchi. Tokushima Gam. lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 19 games lost. They share it with Tokyo.
