Regular Season Round 18: Tokyo Utd - Tachikawa 81-53

Very expected game in Tokyo where 8th ranked Tachikawa (15-15) was rolled over by third ranked United (24-6) 81-53 on Saturday. Tokyo Utd dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tachikawa's 24. They outrebounded Tachikawa 60-33 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tokyo Utd looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Lithuanian power forward Rokas Gustys (206-1994, college: Hofstra) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 22 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-1996) chipped in 11 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Five United players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-1990, college: Oklahoma, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Deandre Abram (203-1997, college: Milwaukee) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Tachikawa's coach Takeo Mabashi gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. United have a solid four-game winning streak. Tokyo Utd maintains third position with 24-6 record having six points less than leader Yokohama EX. Tachikawa at the other side keeps the eighth place with 15 games lost. Tokyo Utd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tachikawa will play against Tokyo (#12) and hope to secure a win.
