Regular Season Round 10: Hitachi Cougars - Chanson V-M 59-66

Not a big story in a game in Hitachinaka where 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-18) were defeated by fourth ranked Chanson V-M (11-9) 66-59 on Sunday. Chanson V-M forced 20 Hitachi Cougars turnovers. The former international swingman Mai Yoshida (175-1998) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Kuke Haruka (166-1995) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. At the losing side Honoka Morioka (172-2004) responded with 13 points and 9 assists and Gambian center Aminata Faru (197-2004) scored 3 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chanson V-M have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-9 record. Hitachi Cougars lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Chanson V-M will meet at home Aishin AW (#6) in the next round. Hitachi Cougars will play against Eneos S. in Kashiwa and hope to secure a win.
