Regular Season Round 16: Yamaguchi - Kanazawa 94-75

There was no surprise when 15th rankedKanazawa (8-20) was outleveled by twelfth ranked Pats Five (11-15) in Yamaguchi 94-75 on Sunday. Yamaguchi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa 's 28. They outrebounded Kanazawa 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Blake Preston (206-2000, college: Northwestern) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds and the other American import Freddie McSwain Jr (201-1994, college: Indiana, agency: Haylett Sports) supported him with 19 points and 10 rebounds. McSwain Jr. is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa . Daisuke Kokubu (190-1995) added 19 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yamaguchi maintains twelfth position with 11-15 record. Kanazawa lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 20 games lost.
