Regular Season Round 28: Nagoya DD - Gunma CT 86-78

There was a small surprise in Nagoya where fifth ranked Dolphins (15-13) defeated much higher ranked Thunders (20-8) 86-78 on Sunday. Nagoya DD made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Zylan Cheatham (203-1995, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) who added 17 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Dolphins players scored in double figures. At the losing side German Johannes Thiemann (206-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nagoya DD moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka E. Loser Thunders keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Alvark Tokyo and Sea Horses M.. Nagoya DD will meet league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma CT will play against Osaka E. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
