Everything went according to plan when sixth rankedAlphas (8-18) outplayed 8th ranked Lakestars (2-24) in Shiga 89-62 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Koshigaya A. made 7 blocks. Filipino-American center Kai Sotto (220-2002) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 20 points. Five Alphas players scored in double figures. Even 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars . American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Koshigaya A. maintains sixth position with 8-18 record. Shiga L-Stars at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the eighth place with 24 games lost.
