Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Orange Vikings (1-25) were outscored by first ranked Rizing (20-6) in Fukuoka 83-61 on Sunday. Fukuoka R. dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Orange Vikings's 18 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Fukuoka R. outrebounded Ehime 37-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Fukuoka R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Justin Burrell (204-1988, college: St.John's) notched 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international forward Takanobu Nishikawa (196-1992) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Four Rizing players scored in double figures. Even 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Terrance King (198-1990, college: ESU, agency: Diamond Sports) did not help to save the game for Ehime. His fellow American import forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) added 8 points and 6 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rizing have an impressive 18-game winning streak. Fukuoka R. maintains first position with 20-6 record. Ehime lost twenty fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 25 games lost. Fukuoka R. will meet Kobe S. (#4) in the next round. Ehime will play against Shizuoka and hope to win that game.
