Very important is a road loss of second rankedKagoshima (17-9) against sixth ranked Volters (6-20) on Sunday night. Visiting Kagoshima was defeated by Volters in a tough game in Kumamoto 76-81 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kagoshima. They outrebounded Kagoshima 40-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. American center Jamel McLean (203-1988, college: Xavier) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (208-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even 9 points and 8 rebounds by Dutch center Matt Haarms (221-1997, college: BYU) did not help to save the game for Kagoshima . Point guard Takayuki Kodama (166-1992) added 10 points and 5 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kumamoto V. maintains sixth position with 6-20 record, which they share with Fukushima. Newly promoted Kagoshima keeps the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Fukui B..
