Regular Season Round 24: Fukui B. - Aomori W. 73-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Fukui between second ranked Blowinds (17-7) and fifth ranked Watts (10-14) on Wednesday night. Blowinds were defeated by Watts in a tough game at home 73-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Blowinds. Aomori W. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Blowinds's 34. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aomori W. made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Max Hisatake (203-1998, college: IlIinois Tech, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Yuichi Ikeda (183-1997) who added 15 points and 12 assists during the contest. Four Watts players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke, agency: Slash Sports) with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aomori W. maintains fifth position with 10-14 record. Newly promoted Fukui B. keeps the second place with seven games lost. They share the position with Toyama G.. Aomori W. are looking forward to face higher ranked Kobe S. (#4) in Hyogo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fukui B. will play on the road against Yamagata and is hoping to win this game.
