Very expected game when 6th rankedWyverns (9-15) were defeated on the road by first ranked Chiba (23-1) 104-91 on Wednesday. Chiba outrebounded Yamagata 47-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Kotetsu Kurokawa (175-2001) who scored 29 points. American center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Chiba players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American James Bell (196-1992, college: Villanova, agency: Slash Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import TJ Holyfield (203-1995, college: Texas Tech) added 29 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Chiba have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-1 record. Yamagata at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Kobe S. and Bambitious.
