Very expected game in Renova where 7th rankedOrange Vikings (1-20) were defeated by second ranked Kagoshima (13-8) 99-88 on Saturday. American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dutch center Matt Haarms (221-1997, college: BYU) chipped in 16 points during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American point guard Ryuji Aoki (178-1998, college: Rose-Hulman) responded with 30 points and 6 assists and American center Nigel Spikes (208-1989, college: Marshall) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Ehime players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Kagoshima maintains second position with 13-8 record having just two points less than leader Chiba. Ehime lost nineteenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 20 games lost.
