There was no surprise in Yokohama where 6th rankedB-Corsairs (7-12) were defeated by third ranked Osaka E. (11-8) 89-84 on Wednesday. Osaka E. shot 26 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Yokohama BC only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 43-32 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Ukrainian center Volodymyr Gerun (208-1994, college: Portland) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) helped adding 16 points and 15 rebounds. At the losing side American Gary Clark (198-1994, college: Cincinnati) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and French power forward Damien Inglis (206-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Osaka E. maintains third place with 11-8 record having six points less than leader Shimane SM, which they share with Akita NH. Loser B-Corsairs dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
