Regular Season Round 17: Sendai 89ers - Sea Horses M. 78-94

No shocking result in a game when third ranked SeaHorses (12-5) beat 6th ranked 89ers (4-13) in Sendai 94-78 on Saturday. Sea Horses M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) nailed 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-1993, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five SeaHorses players scored in double figures. American Nathan Boothe (208-1994, college: Toledo) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) added 14 points respectively for Sendai 89ers in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. SeaHorses have a solid series of four victories in a row. Sea Horses M. used an opportunity after Shimane SM lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Sendai 89ers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Kawasaki and Ibaraki R.. Sea Horses M. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sendai 89ers will play against Sea Horses M. (#3) and hope to secure a win.
