Regular Season Round 20: Aomori W. - Kagoshima 82-75

The most important game in the last round took place in Aomori between second rankedKagoshima (12-8) and sixth ranked Watts Kagoshima was defeated by Watts in a tough game on the road 75-82 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kagoshima. Aomori W. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aomori W. made 7 blocks. American Rashard Kelly (203-1995, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Yuichi Ikeda (183-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Dutch center Matt Haarms (221-1997, college: BYU) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Kagoshima. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aomori W. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Yamagata. Newly promoted Kagoshima keeps the second position with eight games lost.
