There was a small surprise in Saga where sixth rankedNagasaki (7-9) beat one of their biggest challengers Ballooners (7-9) 93-78 on Monday. Nagasaki made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Mark Smith (193-1999, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import Jarrell Brantley (201-1996, college: Charleston) who added 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-1990) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagasaki moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kyoto H. and Saga B.
