Regular Season Round 6: Fujitsu RW - Chanson V-M 82-67

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Fujitsu RW as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Denso I.) loss. Fujitsu RW defeated 5th ranked Chanson V-M in Kawasaki 82-67. The former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) notched 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) supported her with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds by the former international center Izoje Uche (188-2004) did not help to save the game for Chanson V-M. The former international Yurika Sato (176-1998) added 9 points and 4 assists. Chanson V-M's coach Fumikazu Nakagawa rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fujitsu RW have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Denso I. Chanson V-M lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Toyota A.. Chanson V-M will play next round against Toyota BSR trying to get back on the winning streak. Fujitsu RW will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Hitachi Cougars at Hitachinaka.
