Very expected game when 5th ranked Dolphins (6-8) lost to first ranked Jets (12-2) in Chiba 82-96 on Sunday. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward DJ Hogg (203-1996, college: Texas A&M) notched 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by American power forward Scott Eatherton (208-1991, college: Northeastern) did not help to save the game for Nagoya DD. The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) added 14 points and 6 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jets have a solid three-game winning streak. Chiba Jets maintains first position with 12-2 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Nagoya DD lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Chiba Jets will meet at home league's second-placed Ryukyu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nagoya DD will play against Kyoto H. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
