Regular Season Round 12: Chiba - Kagoshima 86-78

The most important game of round 12 was a defeat of league's leader Kagoshima (8-5). They were defeated by top-ranked Chiba (13-0) 86-78 on Sunday night. Chiba made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Chiba outrebounded Kagoshima 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Kagoshima helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Takaaki Kida (188-1995) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and guard Kei Sugimoto (184-1992) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized American Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Dutch center Matt Haarms (221-1997, college: BYU) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-0 record which they share with defeated Kagoshima. Kagoshima lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team still keeps top place with five games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Chiba who have the same record. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
