Regular Season Round 11: Toyama G. - Shinshu BW 80-78

Important game to mention about took place in Toyama. Second ranked Grouses (8-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Brave Warriors (9-4) 80-78 in the fight for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Toyama G. made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Grouses brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Forward Aaron White (206-1992, college: Iowa, agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 17 points and 12 rebounds. Four Grouses players scored in double figures. Forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Grouses. Toyama G. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kagoshima and Shizuoka. Shinshu at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. Toyama G. will play against league's second-placed Shinshu in Nagano in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu will have a break next round.
