Regular Season Round 13: Gunma CT - Sea Horses M. 87-77

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gunma. Third ranked Thunders faced 4th placed SeaHorses. Host Thunders (8-6) defeated guests from Kariya (9-5) 87-77. Gunma CT outrebounded Sea Horses M. 31-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-1989) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws). At the losing side American forward Jake Layman (206-1994, college: Maryland) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Yudai Nishida (190-1999) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Five Gunma CT and four Sea Horses M. players scored in double figures. SeaHorses' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gunma CT maintains third place with 8-6 record having four points less than leader Shimane SM which they share with defeated Sea Horses M.. Loser SeaHorses dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Sunrockers Sh.. Gunma CT will meet at home Sea Horses M.
