Not a big story in a game in Pontianak where 5th rankedHangtuah (6-7) was defeated by third ranked Borneo (12-2) 77-73 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Borneo made 8 blocks. American forward Travin Thibodeaux (203-1996, college: New Orleans) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Stephaun Branch (196-1995, college: UWG) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Rakeem Christmas (206-1991, college: Syracuse) scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Hangtuah's coach Wahyu Jati tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Borneo . They moved-up to second place. Loser Hangtuah keeps the fifth position with seven games lost.
