There was a small surprise when eighth rankedTangerang (2-3) beat 6th ranked Hangtuah (2-3) in Jakarta 79-72 . Tangerang outrebounded Hangtuah 52-38 including a 44-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tangerang players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Hangtuah was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Brazilian center Joao Franca (215-1998) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Josh Cunningham (203-1996, college: Dayton, agency: Diamond Sports) chipped in 10 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Tangerang players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and the other American import Vander Blue (196-1992, college: Marquette) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Hangtuah's coach Wahyu Jati rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Tangerang moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Hangtuah.
