Everything went according to plan when eighth rankedEagles (25-17) defeated 16th ranked Flying Tigers (14-28) in Qingdao 94-84 on Friday. The winners were led by American guard Quinndary Weatherspoon (190-1996, college: MSU) who scored that evening 25 points and 7 assists and the former international Ruize Wang (197-1995) supported him with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Even 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American point guard Boo Buie (183-2000, college: Northwestern) did not help to save the game for Xinjiang . Xiaoyu Qu (207-2004) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Qingdao E. moved-up to seventh place. Loser Flying Tigers keeps the sixteenth position with 28 games lost. They share it with Nanjing.
