A very close game took place in Jinjiang betweenSturgeons and Guandong Tigers . Fourteenth ranked Sturgeons (17-25) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Guandong Tigers (27-15). Sturgeons managed to escape with a 2-point win 93-91 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Fujian S. made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Guangdong ST outrebounded Fujian S. 44-26 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by French power forward Yoan Makoundou (207-2000) who scored that evening 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Yiyang Li (181-1998) supported him with 15 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 32 points and 16 rebounds by Serbian-American power forward Nick Rakocevic (211-1997, college: USC, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Guangdong ST . American guard Trevelin Queen (197-1997, college: NM State) added 17 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fujian S. maintains fourteenth position with 17-25 record. Guangdong ST lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Zhejiang GB..
