The biggest surprise took place in Taiyuan where hostFlame (16-4) beat league's leader Vermilion Birds (15-5) 83-79 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Shanxi made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Guangdong turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Kalani Brown (201-1997, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import center Queen Egbo (193-2000, college: Baylor) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Flame's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Wenxia Li (184-2004) produced 7 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Liwei Yang (175-1995) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Five Shanxi and four Guangdong players scored in double figures. Flame have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Shanxi keeps a position of league leader. Defending champion Guangdong dropped to the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Sichuan. They were replaced at the leadership position by Hefei.
