The game had a very big importance for second-rankedHefei as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Hefei smashed 5th ranked Fujian Nanan at home 89-54 . Hefei outrebounded Fujian Z. 50-23 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Jaime Nared (188-1995, college: Tennessee) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Diamond Johnson (165-1983, college: Norfolk St., agency: LBM Management) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Hefei players scored in double figures. Hefei's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian center Blessing Ejiofor (196-1998, college: WVU) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Fujian Z.Hefei (9-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Fujian Z. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with nine games lost.
