Regular Season Round 36: Fujian - Jiangsu 67-85

There was no surprise in Putian where 6th rankedFujian Nanan (1-30) was defeated by fourth ranked Jiangsu (12-19) 85-67 on Saturday. Jiangsu dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian Nanan 's 32. They outrebounded Fujian 49-29 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jiangsu looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American forward Michaela Onyenwere (183-1999, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 9 rebounds and international forward Luo Xinyu (187-2001) who added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Jiangsu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Roxy Barahman (173-1998, college: Yale) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jiangsu maintains fourth position with 12-19 record. Fujian lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 30 games lost.
