Regular Season Round 36: Zhejiang GB. - Guangsha L. 99-104

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hangzhou:Guangsha Lions (#1) and Golden Bulls (#5). Golden Bulls were defeated at home 99-104 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Golden Bulls. Guangsha L. dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Golden Bulls 's 42. Guangsha L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Guangsha L. made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Zhejiang GB. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American Barry Brown Jr (190-1996, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!). The former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guangsha Lions' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American Gabe York (190-1993, college: Arizona) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists and his fellow American import center Damian Jones (210-1995, college: Vanderbilt) added 16 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang GB.Four Guangsha L. and five Zhejiang GB. players scored in double figures. Guangsha Lions (31-4) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Guangsha L. maintains first position. Zhejiang GB. at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Guangdong ST and Liaoning.
