Bottom-rankedSturgeons managed to get a fifth victory. This time they won against sixteenth-ranked Blue Whales in Jinjiang 121-117 . Fujian S. made 35-of-40 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Sichuan only scored nineteen points from the stripe. Fujian S. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Sichuan was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Joseph Young (188-1992, college: Oregon) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import forward Louis King (201-1999, college: Oregon) contributed with 31 points for the winners. American guard Edmond Sumner (198-1995, college: Xavier) replied with a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 8 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-1994, college: Georgia Tech) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sichuan. Five Fujian S. and four Sichuan players scored in double figures. Blue Whales' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujian S. (5-25) moved-up to nineteenth place. Sichuan at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Ningbo R. and Guangzhou.
