Regular Season Round 24: Guangdong - Fujian 96-81

There was no surprise in Dongguan where 6th rankedFujian Nanan (1-20) was defeated by second ranked Vermilion Birds (15-6) 96-81 on Thursday. Guangdong dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian Nanan 's 40. They outrebounded Fujian 43-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Guangdong looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and international forward Yang Shuyu (182-2002) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. Vermilion Birds' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Min Fang (170-1998) with 26 points and 4 assists and American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Guangdong maintains second position with 15-6 record behind leader Wuhan. Loser Fujian Nanan keeps the sixth place with 20 games lost.
