Regular Season Round 23: Zhejiang - Shandong 86-84

The most exciting game of round 23 in the WCBA took place in Yiwu. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placedSports Lottery (11-9) to second ranked Golden Bulls (12-8) 86-84 in the game for the second place. Zhejiang made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Shandong turnovers. Strangely Shandong outrebounded Zhejiang 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American guard Ezinne Kalu (173-1992, college: SSU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Yu Jiajin (188-2000) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Wei Cao (182-1995) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and center Jing An (184-1995) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Shandong players scored in double figures. Sports Lottery's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Zhejiang maintains second place with 12-8 record having just three points less than leader Wuhan, which they share with Inner M. Shandong at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Liaoning.
