Regular Season Round 25: Nanjing MK - Shanghai S. 131-133

A very close game took place in Jiangsu between Sharks and Monkey Kings. Twelfth ranked Sharks (12-10) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Monkey Kings (12-12). Sharks managed to escape with a 2-point win 133-131 in the fight for the eleventh place. Shanghai looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shanghai made 7 blocks. American forward Kenneth Lofton Jr (201-2002, college: La Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) chipped in 34 points (!!!), 11 assists and 4 steals. Sharks' coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side Israeli-American forward TJ Leaf (208-1997, college: UCLA) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists and Wei Lin (-2003) scored 23 points and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sharks have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Shanghai moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Monkey Kings dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Shanghai will meet at home league's second-placed Shanxi L. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nanjing will play against Beijing (#9) and hope to secure a win.
