There was a small surprise in Shenzhen where eighteenth rankedLeopards (5-16) smashed 15th ranked Rockets (6-15) 139-100 on Friday. Shenzhen L. dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets 's 34. Shenzhen L. outrebounded Ningbo R. 48-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shenzhen L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Trevor Thompson (210-1994, college: Ohio St., agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Markell Johnson (188-1998, college: NC State) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Ronald March (196-1993, college: Philander Smith) who recorded 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and South Sudanese-Australian center Mangok Mathiang (208-1992, college: Louisville) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Shenzhen L. and four Ningbo R. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shenzhen L. maintains eighteenth place with 5-16 record. Ningbo R. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Sichuan and Guangzhou.
