Not a big story in a game in Sichuan where 17th rankedBlue Whales (6-15) were defeated by second ranked Loongs (16-5) 125-116 on Friday. Shanxi L. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Blue Whales 's 44 and made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Shanxi L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shanxi L. made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Guinean-American Hamidou Diallo (198-1998, college: Kentucky) who had a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. American Brandon Goodwin (188-1995, college: FGCU) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian center Marin Maric (211-1994, college: DePaul, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Edmond Sumner (198-1995, college: Xavier) added 25 points and 11 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Loongs have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Despite that victory Shanxi L. went down to third position due to points difference. Loser Blue Whales dropped to the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Ningbo R. and Guangzhou.
