There was an upset in Sichuan where higher rankedJilin Tigers (7-11) were defeated by seventeenth ranked Blue Whales (5-14) 111-105 on Sunday. Sichuan made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Edmond Sumner (198-1995, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory scoring 53 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Jinxiao Li (206-1997) helped adding 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 12 assists and guard Licheng Luan (197-1998) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sichuan maintains seventeenth place with 5-14 record. Loser Jilin Tigers keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost.
