Regular Season Round 13: Shandong - Shanghai 79-78

The most exciting game of round 13 in the WCBA took place in Penglai. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher rankedSwordfish (8-3) to fourth ranked Sports Lottery (6-5) 79-78 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Swordfish. Shandong made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Shanghai outrebounded Shandong 41-20 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shandong looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Alanna Smith (193-1996, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The former international power forward Yang Hengyu (194-1995) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Sports Lottery players scored in double figures. Brazilian center Kamilla Cardoso (201-2001, college: S.Carolina) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Crystal Bradford (183-1993, college: CMU) added 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shanghai. Shandong maintains fourth place with 6-5 record. Shanghai at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost.
