The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth rankedVermilion Birds ' (3-2) home victory over 5th ranked Beijing Great Wall (1-4) in Dongguan 92-86 on Wednesday. Guangdong outrebounded Beijing 34-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. Guangdong looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International forward Yang Shuyu (182-2002) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Five Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. American forward Cheyenne Parker-Tyus (193-1992, college: MTSU) came up with 29 points and 6 assists and the other American import point guard Aari McDonald (168-1998, college: Arizona) added 31 points respectively for Beijing in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guangdong moved-up to third place, which they share with Jiangsu and Inner M. Beijing lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Xinjiang.
