Regular Season Round 5: Shaanxi - Henan 77-76

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Henan Phoenix (1-1) in Weinan on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Red Wolves (2-2) 77-76. Shaanxi made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American center Queen Egbo (193-2000, college: Baylor) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and forward Shang Di (176-2002) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Red Wolves players scored in double figures. American point guard Odyssey Sims (175-1992, college: Baylor) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 5 steals and Taiwanese Wei-An Chen (177-1995) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Shaanxi moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Henan at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. They share it with Hefei. Shaanxi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Henan will play at home against Tianjin (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
