Hamed Haddadi (218-C-85) tallied 33 points and 17 rebounds to pace Mahram past Petrochimi for the WABA Champions Cup trophy. Mahram thus clinched the ticket to the 25th Fiba Asia Champions Cup.
Petrochimi snatched an early lead. They enjoyed a 21:17 advantage after ten minutes. Petrochimi boosted their lead in the second quarter. They ensured a 43:34 halftime advantage. But Mahram went on a 29:16 run in the third quarter and surged ahead for good. Mahram dominated in the fourth frame wrapping up the game on a 27:14 run and sealing the victory. Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-F-83) had 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, while Oshin Sahakian (200-PF-86) contributed 11 points in the win. Eric Dawson (206-F/C-84, college: Midwestern St.) responded with 21 points for Petrochimi. Hamed Afagh (193-SG-83) chipped in 20 points in the loss.
ASU earned the Bronze medals after they overcame Kahraba 79:65. Wesam Al-Sous stepped up with 23 points for the Jordanian champs.

Mahram and Petrochimi advance into Final - Mar 13, 2014

Mahram reached the WABA Champions Cup following a 112:87 victory over Kahraba of Iraq in the semis. Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-F-83) stepped up with 37 points to pace the Iranian powerhouse. Mahram built a 52:34 halftime lead. They stayed in front throughout the second half. Mahram entered the fourth frame up by 28 points and never looked back en route to the win. Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-PG-94) delivered 13 points, while Hamed Haddadi (218-C-85) added 17 points in the victory. Eric Williams (198-F-85, college: Tarleton St.) and Rami Sammer produced 18 points each in the loss.
Petrochimi overcame ASU 82:64 for the second ticked into the championship clash. Dan Gadzuric posted 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the winners. Petrochimi secured a 46:32 halftime lead. They kept ASU at bay throughout the second half and stormed to the victory. Eric Dawson (206-F/C-84, college: Midwestern St.) delivered 16 points, while Mahdi Kamrani (186-PG-82) added 14 points for Petrochimi. Wesam Al-Sous (185-PG-83) responded with 23 points for ASU.
